We have spent every single day of July on the water in and around Anna Maria Island, and 1/3 of August is already booked – so, no signs of slowing down! The fishing has been nothing short of amazing with memories being made on a daily basis. With all that said, let’s take a look forward to August in AMI.

What To Expect In August

August is a hot month in more ways than one. In the area, anglers can expect shots at Redfish, Seatrout, Snook, Tarpon, Spanish Mackerel, Snapper, and even Grouper. We are personally hitting the backcountry and flats in the area with snook in mind, though along the way there is an opportunity to catch a ton of different species.

Tarpon Migration

The main rush of tarpon season begins to wind down, but targeting active tarpon near AMI is still a daily occurrence. We just had a 7-year-old guest get one boat side on a recent trip.
